Four new vehicles from Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3, including two Yaiba motorcycles, a Rayfield sports car, and a Chevillon SUV.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Adds Auto Drive, New Vehicles, Photo Mode Upgrades, and Mac Support

CD Projekt Red has released Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 on July 17, bringing with it a wave of fresh content, quality-of-life improvements, and technical upgrades for all platforms—except Nintendo Switch 2, which will receive the patch at a later date.

Nicknamed the “More to Discover” update, Patch 2.3 adds new vehicles, a powerful auto drive system, expanded photo mode features, and Apple Silicon Mac support, all designed to breathe new life into Night City for both new and returning players.

Let’s break down everything this patch has to offer.

Patch 2.3 introduces three new cars and one motorcycle, each with their own unique design, lore, and customization options:

A high-performance bike designed for speed and flair, the Semimaru is a reward for completing a new Side Job.
How to unlock:

  • Complete the quests The Hunt and The Beast in Me
  • Completing an additional Side Job will unlock the exclusive CrystalCoat™ paint customization for it

A luxury, armored sports car with aggressive styling and top-tier performance.
How to unlock:

  • Complete the following quests:
    • The Beast in Me: Badlands
    • The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo
    • Transmission
    • Search and Destroy

Another sleek Yaiba motorcycle with a street samurai aesthetic.
How to unlock:

  • Purchase at least 1 Yaiba vehicle
  • Buy 3 or more vehicles through AUTOFIXER
  • Complete the Reported Crime: You Play with Fire…
  • Note: If you fail the Side Job, you can still purchase the Muramasa later via AUTOFIXER.

A bold and robust vehicle, the Aquila is designed for players who favor both power and presence.
How to unlock:

  • Available directly through AUTOFIXER without quest requirements

Each of these vehicles also supports the new paint customization system, giving you access to hundreds of visual styles, from generic finishes to rare, lore-friendly paint jobs. Whether you’re cruising in autopilot or taking photos in cinematic mode, these new rides elevate your experience in Night City.

These vehicles are tied to new quests but don’t impact completion rates or achievements, meaning players can enjoy them without any pressure. It’s a welcome change for players who enjoy exploration and collecting without disrupting their trophy/achievement goals.

A standout addition in this patch is the Auto Drive system. Now, players can:

  • Set a destination on the map
  • Let their vehicle follow traffic rules (yes, even stopping at red lights!)
  • Activate a cinematic camera to enjoy a scenic ride across Night City
  • Choose between guided travel or free roam

This hands-free mode encourages players to slow down and appreciate the city’s ambiance. While it adds immersion and convenience, random ambushes during auto drives ensure that the tension and unpredictability of Night City remain intact.

Patch 2.3 adds another transportation option: Delamain taxis.

After completing the quest “Don’t Lose Your Mind,” players unlock the ability to:

  • Call Delamain taxis from anywhere
  • Take cinematic, hands-free rides across the city
  • Snap photos in photo mode during rides

This system blends functional travel with lore-based storytelling, building on the fan-favorite AI taxi company in a meaningful and stylish way.

CDPR has vastly expanded vehicle customization in this update:

  • 205 generic paint jobs
  • 168 unique paint styles
  • Spread across 32 vehicles, including motorcycles

Even lower-tier vehicles can now get flashy upgrades thanks to an in-game lore justification involving hacker tech. However, one exception remains: the heavily armored Chevon truck can’t be painted due to its specialized materials— a thoughtful design choice consistent with the game’s internal logic.

For content creators and creative players, Patch 2.3 delivers major improvements to photo mode:

  • A new weather & time control tab
  • 27 new customizable NPCs
  • Wardrobe changes for V
  • A “look at camera” eye direction tool
  • Improved UI for browsing and filtering

These features allow for better scene setup, storytelling, and personalization, making it easier than ever to capture the perfect shot of life (or chaos) in Night City.

For tech enthusiasts, Patch 2.3 delivers modern visual enhancements:

On PC:

  • AMD FSR 3.1 and support for FSR 4 (future)
  • Intel XSS 2.0 frame generation
  • HDR10+ support for compatible monitors

On Consoles:

  • VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, providing smoother frame pacing and responsiveness.

These improvements ensure that Cyberpunk 2077 continues to meet evolving hardware standards and provides a top-tier visual experience.

One of the most surprising and welcome announcements in this patch: Cyberpunk 2077 is now officially supported on Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3 chips and beyond).

Even better, it includes:

  • Cross-progression support
  • Compatible with versions purchased through GOG, Steam, and Epic Games Store

This move opens up the game to a whole new user base, making it one of the most graphically intense titles now available natively on macOS.

Patch 2.3 is more than just a technical update—it’s a thoughtful combination of player feedback, world-building, and modern feature integration.

From self-driving vehicles to custom-painted rides, expanded photo mode tools, and cross-platform flexibility, CD Projekt Red shows it’s still committed to evolving Cyberpunk 2077 into the best version of itself.

Whether you’re returning to Night City after months away or just getting started, now is a perfect time to explore what’s new.
